Job description

A 2.5 year post-doc position is available in our laboratory to study the role of lysosomes in cancer. Lysosomes, the main degradative organelle of the cell, are central in regulating the delicate balance between anabolism and catabolism. Lysosomal transformation is a long-known trait of cancer cells, but how this translates into cancer progression is not established. Within this project, we will investigate the molecules and pathways that regulate the lysosomal transformation in cancer cells using advanced microscopy, biochemistry and mass spectroscopy. The project will be part of the new research line dedicated to high-resolution understanding of organelle functions in cancer biology, led by Dr. Nalan Liv.
