The Department of Languages, Literature, and Communication, in collaboration with the Graduate School of Teaching, is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in English Language and Culture, with a specialisation in Language Pedagogy and Applied Linguistics. The position is full-time (part-time negotiable) and is initially for 2 years, with a prospect of becoming permanent. The appointment will start on 1 August 2019 at the latest.
The position includes teaching duties at both Bachelor and Master levels. The successful candidate will teach courses in the fields of Pedagogy (related to the teaching of English language and culture in secondary education) and Applied Linguistics (with an emphasis on second language acquisition). S/he will also carry out research at an internationally acknowledged level within the area of English Language Pedagogy or Applied Linguistics, complementing the research programme of the Utrecht Institute of Linguistics (Uil-OTS).
The successful candidate will also be expected to perform various job-related administrative tasks such as serving at curriculum and exam committees.
