Job description

The Department of Marketing Management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM), seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professorship level. We are looking for a new colleague to contribute to our research excellence and meet our growing teaching needs.

In this role, you will contribute to the research and teaching excellence of RSM's Marketing Management department of RSM, particularly in the domain of quantitative marketing, for example machine learning.

Your main tasks
Your duties include:
  • teach (quantitative) marketing-related topics in the BSc, MSc and/or (executive) MBA programmes of RSM (courses to be discussed)
  • conducting academic research aimed at top-tier journals in marketing and related fields - independently and in collaboration with others
  • contribute to the further development of RSM and the Department of Marketing Management in particular.

Requirements

We are seeking candidates with a quantitative background. We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate excellence in scholarly research and competence in teaching, and who hold or are nearing completion of a PhD in marketing or a related discipline (computer science, data science, econometrics, economics, machine learning, statistics).

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: Tenure Track.

As an RSM researcher, you will have access to excellent research facilities such as the Erasmus Behavioural Lab and several high-performance computing resources through the SURFsara foundation and the Erasmus Research Institute in Management (ERIM). The Department of Marketing Management is chaired by Professor Stefano Puntoni (spuntoni@rsm.nl), and offers a moderate teaching load and a highly collegial and supportive environment.

The conditions of employment comply with the collective labour agreement for Dutch universities (CAO VSN). The remuneration on a full-time basis amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of €3,746 and a maximum of €5,127 (scale 11), depending on your education and experience. Favourable tax agreements may apply to applicants who are not from the Netherlands. Erasmus University Rotterdam's attractive employment conditions also include a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, a generous number of vacation days, a solid pension scheme (ABP) and contribution to commuting expenses.
