Job description

The development of new medicines within the academic world is one of the spearheads of the LUMC. Within this position we focus on highly innovative medicines, cell and gene therapies. This very challenging group of medicines is used in a wide variety of ways, for example for the treatment of cancer, but also for regenerative medicine. For our research facility 'The Center for Cell and Gene Therapy (CCG)' we are now looking for a postdoc who focuses on the development, regulation of and patient access to these medicines. This will be done within two large national and international consortia, DARE (oncology) and reNEW (stem cell therapies), both of which aim to boost the development of these medicinal products and make them available to patients. This position offers the opportunity to build a strong network within cell and gene therapies and drug development field, and to collaborate with renown national and international research groups.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and creative postdoc. You have a PhD on a relevant subject and you have completed a study in a (bio)medical, pharmaceutical or similar field. You have a demonstrable interest and experience in drug development and cell and gene therapy. You have good communicative, both in writing and in speech, and organizational skills.

Conditions of employment

As a postdoc your salary will at minimum be € 2,986 and € 4,707 at most (scale 10, CLA UMC). These are gross amounts based on full-time employment.

Department

Center for Cell and Gene Therapy

The Center for Cell and Gene Therapy (CCG) is an independent research facility within the LUMC and has more than 20 years of experience in the development and production of cell and gene therapies. You will work in a team of approximately eight employees who are involved in the production and development of innovative medicines, including cell and gene therapy. Within this center we support the researchers in product development and we are responsible for production in our GMP facility. In addition, we are a center of expertise in the field of regulations for this group of medicines.
