Job description

This research project is embedded in a large international attempt focused on early recognition and prevention of cardiovascular disease, using a 'DigitalTwin'. 'MyDigiTwin' is a scientific initiative to develop a platform in which individuals can, for the first time, directly compare their personal health data with big-data reference data available from multiple cohorts, including ± 200,000 national and ± 500,000 international volunteers with long-term follow-up.

The focus of the current project is on big-data validation of existing prediction models of cardiovascular risk, events and potential treatment effects.

You will be involved in data-collection related to cardiovascular disease. Your will analyze the currently existing prediction models for cardiovascular disease and validate these using large-nation wide datasets. Ultimately, you will disseminate the findings through scientific articles and conference presentations.

Requirements

  • You are a highly motivated candidate with a PhD-degree in medicine, biomedical sciences, epidemiology, or a related field.
  • Experience with any of the following types of data or research questions would also be a strength: cardiovascular disease; vascular imaging (e.g., CT or MRI); data science; prediction modeling.
  • A strong command of English is required; knowledge of Dutch is also mandatory.

Conditions of employment

The gross monthly salary amounts a maximum of € 4.707,- (scale 10), depending on your level of education and relevant experience and based on a full-time working week of 36 hours. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Medical Centers (CAO UMC).
