The professorship ‘Sensors & Smart Systems’ is embedded in the Research Center Biobased Economy. Research and development focus are IoT technologies and methodologies to facilitate the Industry 4.0 trend in the transformation of production capabilities and products of all industries specifically the bio-based economy and the health sector in the Dutch Northern region and beyond. The future IoT edge technology will be characterized by the emergence of increasingly communication between supplier and its customers or consumers. Creation new ways of responsible and sustainable brandloyality. Meeting new levels of consumer satisfaction, causes a groundbreaking optimation in collaboration patterns between different partners in the valuechain. Hanze university of Applied Sciences is presently establishing such new patterns with partners from industry. In this context we are looking for a Future IoT Edge Technology Architect/ Lecturer/ Researcher (1,0 FTE).

In an active collaboration between Hanze University of Applied Sciences and industrial partners, the IoT Architect will conduct applied research in the field of product development, sensors and its commercial applicance.
It includes the understanding of consumer needs (end user), and the needs of partners direct customer. Visit customers of the Industrial partners for brainstorming, presenting ideas/concepts and discussions.
In particular, you will:
Position in the organisation
You will be employed at the Institute of Engineering and you will work for the professorship Sensors & Smart Systems. The professor will be your supervisor. In consultation you will be deployed for a few days at our partner ESKA in Hoogezand.

For this role the following competences are required: creative and out-of-the-box thinking, perseverance, results orientation, work independently, academic writing, and planning and organization. You are a teamplayer, who takes initiatives and is creative.
Fixed-term contract: 1 year, with the option of extension.
You will be part of an ambitious and innovative team of researchers and teachers and have the opportunity to develop yourself further as a practice oriented researcher. You can extend yout network and contribute to timely research in an international network.
The appointment will initially be for one year, with the option of extension. The position is valued in scale is 11, in accordance with the collective labor agreement. The salary is at least € 3663,- and a maximum of € 5332,- gross per month for a full-time job.
