Vlerick is a school, but we run it as a company, aligned with the high standards we foster in our different programmes. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven PhD Researcher on the field of Private Equity.

Your Mission:

As a PhD researcher in the field of Private Equity (i.e., venture capital, growth capital and late stage private equity), you will:

• Perform fundamental (& applied) research in the context of Private Equity and how new sustainability (ESG) regulations have an impact on the investment behavior of private equity firms
• Disseminate knowledge by writing academic papers, reports, articles and attending academic conferences and workshops
• This Ph.D. will be a joint degree combining Ghent University and Tilburg University

 You:

• You have a Masters Degree with at least a great distinction (magna cum laude)
• You have an interest in private equity and entrepreneurial finance
• You have good analytical and econometric skills
• You want to conduct relevant research both for the academic and the business world
• You want to provide limited support to your supervisers
• You are fluent in English
• You can work autonomously
• You have a proactive attitude
• You have good writing skills
• Located in either campus Ghent or Brussels
