Job description

In this position you will have the opportunity to develop your EngD studies on the design and experimental testing of an isobaric expansion engine to utilize fuel cell heat at low temperatures. These studies are part of a bigger project that aligns with the objectives of the Maritime Masterplan by developing climate-neutral vessels powered by hydrogen fuel cells, cryogenic (very low temperature) liquid hydrogen storage on board and other advanced technologies.

Requirements

  • You have a Master’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • You have experience with experimental laboratory systems.
  • You are fluent in English.

Conditions of employment

  • You will be appointed on a fulltime position for 2 years.
  • The salary is € 2.872,- per month.
  • The offer further involves: a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3%, a solid pension scheme, a minimum of 29 holidays

The Sustainable Process Technology (SPT) group is part of the Faculty of Science and Technology, TNW, at University of Twente. We develop experimental and modelling research in the areas of biomass conversion, affinity separations, plastic recycling, water and CO2 capture and conversion. We combine our expertise in different disciplines (process design, chemistry, catalysis, modelling, engineering) to contribute to the development of sustainable chemical processes.
