The mission of the Neurochemistry Laboratory of the Amstedam UMC, location VUmc, is to improve patient care for neurological disorders by developing biomarkers in body fluids.
A primary focus area is the early diagnosis of dementia, for which there is close collaboration with the Alzheimer Center. A second focus area is Multiple Sclerosis, for which there is collaboration with the MS Center Amsterdam. We also work with diagnostic companies to develop and validate new tests. The research group has strong expertise in the identification of new biomarkers and the development of new biomarker assays until implementation.
You will participate in a growing team, in which there is good and pleasant cooperation. The team consists of 45 employees, including 18 PhD students, 10 postdocs and 17 research technicians and data analysts. The Neurochemistry Lab provides a lively, internationally oriented, scientific environment with excellent facilities. We also organize weekly scientific meetings, journal clubs and work discussions to gain scientific input and to exchange knowledge.
Amsterdam UMC Research BV supports non-profit scientific research. In doing so, we provide researchers with everything they need to excel.
