Junior researcher in the Generations and Gender Programme NIDI

This position of GGP junior researcher is an entry-level position for those starting their (academic) career journey. The main tasks will be to assist with the daily operations of the GGP headquarter and work with the newly collected GGS data. This will include:

• assisting with fieldwork preparations (e.g., coding and testing the survey questionnaire,

helping monitor the fieldwork)

• processing the newly collected survey data in Stata and R, and further developing

procedures for checking the data quality;

• developing products for facilitating and promoting the use of GGS data (e.g., creating

user-friendly Stata syntax and variables);

• demonstrating the use and impact of the data to various stakeholders;
• supporting the work of the Central Hub as needed.

As our new team member in the GGP headquarter, you will bring a dynamic and adaptable mindset, ready to tackle changing priorities with ease. Your keen eye for detail and reliable organizational skills will ensure that tasks are managed efficiently and accurately.

You recently completed a Research Master’s in Sociology, Demography, or a relevant discipline and have a particular interest in empirical work. You possess good knowledge of Stata or R and (ideally) have experience working with large-scale longitudinal survey data, such as GGS or SHARE. Your strong technical affinity allows you to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools and technologies. Familiarity with GIT is a plus. Additionally, your strong communication skills in English, both written and oral, will ensure effective collaboration and documentation.

Terms of employment*

Depending on education and experience the minimum salary is [[salarisMin]] and the maximum salary is [[salarisMax]] gross per month for a full-time appointment (scale [[ufoSchaal]] cao Nederlandse Universiteiten/KNAW). This is exclusive of 8% vacation allowance, 8.3% year-end bonus, travel allowance, internet allowance, home working allowance and pension accrual with ABP.
