Vacancy: Peer Support Student Assistant for the Student Well-being Team (0.42 FTE) Starting January 2026 (start date negotiable) Would you like a meaningful part-time job alongside your studies, where you can truly make an impact on student well-being? We are looking for a new student assistant to join our Student Well-being team. This is a position for 16 hours per week for a minimum period of one year. What you will doAs a student assistant, you will work on various projects. Each student assistant has their own focus and set of tasks, depending on their skills and interests. Below is an overview of the tasks for this role, which focuses on Peer Support:

Project support: Together with a project leader, you will work on (sub)projects within the student well-being programme, including the Student Support Groups. You will identify thematic needs, schedule each round, manage and maintain an overview of registrations. You will often work independently and will be given significant responsibility.

Maintaining contact with the volunteer community: The Student Support Groups rely on student volunteers. You will maintain contact with them, act as a point of contact, and regularly recruit new volunteers. You will conduct introductory interviews and organise training sessions.

Data collection and analysis: After each round of Student Support Groups, you will collect data and prepare evaluation reports. Based on the results, you will provide recommendations and adjust the groups where necessary.

Additional tasks: You will also be flexible in supporting other tasks within the Student Well-being team, such as representing the team at information fairs, attending meetings, or other activities where your skills can be applied.

What you bringRequirements:
- You will be studying at Leiden University for at least one more year and have an interest in student well-being;
- You enjoy working with administrative and organisational processes and have demonstrable experience in this area;
- You have experience in analysing and presenting data clearly;
- You can plan and execute tasks effectively, even when managing multiple priorities;
- You communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing;
- You have excellent spoken and written command of English;
- You can work independently.
Desirable:
- You can express yourself well in Dutch in a work environment (there is room to develop this skill in the role);
- You are proficient in Excel and have experience using it (there is room to develop this skill in the role);
- You actively participate in process and project design and take the initiative to innovate;
- You are closely connected to the target group and preferably have a broad network.
Where you will workAs a student assistant, you will be part of the Student Well-being team within the Student Support Services (SSS) department of the SOZ expertise centre. Our team consists of the programme manager/team leader for student wellbeing, three project coordinators, and six student assistants in total. We work in an informal and open atmosphere where your ideas and initiatives are more than welcome. You will be given considerable autonomy to work independently, with the reassurance of a supportive team behind you. Together, we are committed to the well-being of all students.

Employment will be in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, for a period of one year. Extension is possible, depending on need, demonstrated suitability, and available resources.
