This is a pivotal role responsible for shaping and evolving the university’s ServiceNow platform to support academic, administrative, and research operations. You’ll be at the forefront of digital transformation in higher education, designing modern solutions that improve service delivery, enhance student and faculty experiences, and enable operational excellence.
We are seeking a highly experienced
Techlead ServiceNow to guide our ServiceNow platform architecture, strategy, and implementation. This leadership role is responsible for translating complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and sustainable ServiceNow solutions. You will lead the architectural design, development standards, and governance processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and industry best practices.
The Enterprise Service Management Team is part of the central IT department of WUR. The central IT department consists of 250 professionals. Our multidisciplinary teams are applying
an agile way of workingKey Responsibilities: -
Architectural Leadership: Serve as the platform architect for ServiceNow, driving scalable design decisions that support the university’s strategic goals.

Service Optimization: Lead design and development efforts across ITSM and extend to modules such as HR Service Delivery, CSM, and custom workflows tailored to university processes.

Platform Governance: Establish technical standards, documentation, and governance to ensure maintainability, performance, data integrity, and alignment with compliance and security policies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with departments including IT, Facilities, Human Resources, Teacher Support, Communication & Marketing and Research to gather requirements and deliver effective ServiceNow solutions.

Mentorship & Oversight: Mentor developers and administrators, manage vendor relationships, and provide technical leadership throughout the platform lifecycle.

Continuous Improvement: Champion new features, upgrades, and innovations on the platform, aligning capabilities with evolving university needs.
