Job description

In this role, you will collect and manage sustainability data from dairy farms for the Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN).
You will maintain your own portfolio of poultry farms, supplemented by businesses from another agricultural sector (e.g. pigs, dairy, or arable farming). You’ll also be responsible for managing relationships with these farmers. Therefore, you’ll work closely with our FADN participants from one of our regional offices in: Alkmaar, The Hague, Drachten, Holten, Goes, Oisterwijk, Meijel, or Wageningen.

The Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN) (www.wur.nl/bedrijveninformatienet) is a network of approximately 1,500 agricultural and horticultural businesses, 100 cutters and other vessels in the fisheries sector, and 150 forestry companies. At Wageningen Social & Economic Research, several administrative staff help maintain this network.

Key responsibilities in this role as an Agricultural Administrative Officer:
Collecting financial and sustainability data from a fixed group of FADN businesses. You gather this data from company records or digitally (e.g. e-invoices), derive it from the accountant's economic reports, or collect it by conducting surveys with the entrepreneur. You then enter this data into a database, making it available for your research colleagues.

Maintaining relationships with FADN participants. You will prepare an annual report for each farmer, summarizing financial results and key environmental indicators, and generate a digital business benchmark overview via MijnAgrimatie.nl. During your visit, you’ll present these reports, answer any questions, and initiate data collection for the new year. Each year, you’ll also recruit a few new participants to compensate for natural turnover. Once trained, you’ll be in the field roughly one day a week (full-time).
