Job description

Do you like using your organisational and problem-solving skills in a multifaceted, collaborative and multidisciplinary working environment? If so, come and join us at the Behavioural Science Institute (BSI). As our new Lab Coordinator, you will make the difference for our international staff and participants.

As lab coordinator at BSI, you will be co-responsible for the daily support and maintenance of, and documentation for, our various lab facilities.

You will act as our first point of contact and support our researchers by keeping records, coordinating and optimising lab usage, managing lab equipment, facilitating user access to supporting (IT) systems, and by providing information, advice and training. You will monitor an efficient workflow, implement and monitor (practical) rules of conduct and contribute to the formulation of lab procedures and protocols.

You will be member of a well-coordinated management team that supports research at BSI. You will be expected to actively collaborate with your colleagues at BSI and the technical support group. You will facilitate connection and collaboration between our researchers and with other research institutes and organisational units within Radboud University.

Requirements

  • You must have at least an MBO certificate (senior secondary vocational education).
  • You preferably have experience with working in higher education or an academic environment, more specifically in a relevant (behavioural) lab setting.
  • You have a hands-on mentality and a service- and solution-oriented approach.
  • You show commitment and think and act proactively, both individually and in a team.
  • You have the ability to manage time, prioritise workload whilst remaining calm and multitask effectively.
  • You have a positive, open attitude and are able to be self-critical. You have good communication skills, both written and spoken (in Dutch and English).

Conditions of employment

  • We will give you a temporary employment contract of one year with the prospect of an indefinite contract, if performance is good and business conditions remain unchanged.
  • Your salary within salary scale 7 depends on your previous education and number of years of (relevant) work experience. The amounts in the scale are based on a 38-hour working week.
  • You will receive an 8% holiday allowance and an 8,3% end-of-year bonus.
  • There may be an opportunity for Dual Career Coaching. The Dual Career Coaching assists your partner via support, tools, and resources to improve their chances of independently finding employment in the Netherlands.
  • You will receive extra days off. With full-time employment, you can choose between 30 or 41 days of annual leave instead of the statutory 20.

Additional employment conditions
Work and science require good employment practices. This is reflected in Radboud University's primary and secondary employment conditions. You can make arrangements for the best possible work-life balance with flexible working hours, various leave arrangements and working from home. You are also able to compose part of your employment conditions yourself, for example, exchange income for extra leave days and receive a reimbursement for your sports subscription. And of course, we offer a good pension plan. You are given plenty of room and responsibility to develop your talents and realise your ambitions. Therefore, we provide various training and development schemes.
