Job description

Are you an expert in the field of Absenteeism & Prevention? Are you looking for a position where you not only advise and support managers in (prevention of) absenteeism, but you are also passionately committed to a vital and healthy working environment within an innovative organization? Then this is the position for you!

Your department:
At WUR, we work according to our own developed HR Service Model: HR Together. Three components together realize the HR services: HR Business Partnering from the decentralized units and the Center of Expertise (CoE) and HR Operations from Corporate HR.

You will work from the Vital & Health (V&H) CoE dedicated to an organisational unit and work on WUR-wide activities in the field of Vital & Health (about 80% for your organisational unit and 20% WUR-wide). You will work closely with the Team Lead V&H, the V&H Policy Advisor, your fellow Absenteeism & Prevention Advisors and the decentralised HR Business Partners.

In the CoE, harmonization, development and renewal of WUR HR policy take place. The CoE is also responsible for the vision and strategy on the HR topics within its own portfolio. The CoE, in collaboration with HR Teams and HR Operations, is about a consistent translation of policy into implementation. There are experts who know and can apply developments outside the organization and in the field.

Your position:
As an Absenteeism & Prevention Advisor, you not only inform and advise managers, but you also support (prevention of) absenteeism. Thanks in part to your expertise and commitment to a vital and healthy working environment, your colleagues at Wageningen University & Research can continue to do their work in a healthy way.

Your tasks and responsibilities as an Absenteeism & Prevention Advisor are:
  • You offer managers specialist advice (solicited and unsolicited) and information about vitality, (prevention of) absenteeism and incapacity for work;
  • You will monitor the correct and timely execution of the process during the 1st and 2nd year of illness on the basis of the Gatekeeper Act and advise and support in fulfilling the obligations in the context of this process. You can think of: interventions, deployment of company doctor, file structure and 1st/2nd track. You coordinate this with the HR Business Partners of the relevant unit, company doctor, other care providers (such as Company Social Work) and UWV. You are the spider in the web;
  • You contribute to the development of Vital & Health policy and translate signals and needs from the organization into appropriate interventions.

Requirements

This role as Absenteeism & Prevention Advisor within the CoE V&H is a versatile and relatively new role. That is why a connecting, proactive, analytical, energetic and pragmatic attitude to work is important.
  • At least a completed relevant higher professional education (e.g. HRM) supplemented with 'Management of absenteeism' and preferably also with registration training in case management.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations (Gatekeeper Improvement Act);
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a similar position;
  • Good advisory skills and you are a real connector.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language.

In our international working environment, communication is increasingly in English. For this position, it concerns language level C1 If you do not yet have this level, we will of course help you and you can contact our language center Wageningen in'to Language
