Job description

As an all-round carpenter, you will be part of the Building and Installation Service (BIS) team, which has 21 employees. The BIS team is responsible for the daily maintenance of the buildings and installations of Wageningen University & Research (WUR).

In your work as a carpenter, you will collaborate with three colleagues for various clients within WUR. You will always ensure that your professional contribution meets the needs of the client with whom you are in direct contact. Most of the work is carried out in WUR buildings or in a well-equipped workshop just outside the campus, where everything you need is at your disposal.

Your tasks and responsibilities as an All-round Carpenter are:
  • performing daily structural maintenance;
  • manufacturing window frames, windows, and doors;
  • installing walls and ceilings;
  • applying fire-resistant seals;
  • manufacturing custom furniture.

Requirements

You are customer-oriented and enjoy working with others. You are also good at solving problems and use your creativity to do so.

You also have:
  • VMBO/LTS education or higher;
  • good communication skills;
  • at least 10 years of relevant work experience;
  • basic VCA certification or willingness to obtain it;
  • driver's license B.

Construction and Installation Services (BIS) is part of the Real Estate & Housing department within the Facilities Division of Wageningen UR. BIS carries out owner and user maintenance on Wageningen UR's building-related installations. In addition, BIS is responsible for resolving (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) first-line malfunctions in complex installations.
