Are you looking for a new challenge where you can further develop yourself and gain the opportunity to work within different parts of Wageningen University & Research (WUR)? Do you enjoy variety and want to contribute to a wide range of research projects? Then the position of Senior Project Controller within our Flexpool might be perfect for you!
What is the Flexpool?The Flexpool is a team within WUR that helps absorb peaks in workload, for example during maternity leave, sabbaticals, or when a vacancy has not yet been filled. From the Flexpool, you work for shorter periods (usually several months) within various departments and institutes across WUR. During each assignment, you become part of the local team and contribute to their projects.
What will you do?As a project controller in the Flexpool, you work on diverse research projects within a large and socially relevant organization. You support teams in the financial management of (subsidized) projects and ensure that the progress and reliability of financial processes remain safeguarded. You also contribute ideas on how to structure and improve project control practices. The content of the work is similar to a regular project controller role, but you carry it out in different parts of the organization.
Thanks to the variety of assignments, you will:
- work on diverse projects across different departments;
- develop both professionally and personally;
- quickly build a broad network within WUR;
- actively contribute to knowledge sharing and quality improvement within project control.
In this role, you are responsible for the financial management of research projects, from budgeting to final reporting. You act as the link between finance and research and work closely with project leaders and business controllers to maintain oversight of progress, risks, and accountability. You also serve as a sparring partner for fellow project controllers on more complex issues.
Your tasks include:
- financially guiding and coordinating (complex) projects and ensuring accurate and consistent financial documentation;
- acting as a sparring partner and point of contact for project leaders, business controllers, and external parties;
- identifying, interpreting, and discussing financial risks and initiating appropriate measures;
- handling periodic closings and ensuring reliable result determination;
- contributing to the balance file and annual accounts;
- ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, policies, and subsidy conditions.
