Job description

DNA replication represents a crucial, but potentially dangerous process that cells must complete to undergo cellular division. A failure to properly maintain the integrity of replicating chromosomes inevitably leads to genome instability, which is an early event in tumorigenesis. The candidate will be part of a young research team studying molecular and the structural mechanisms underlying DNA replication stress-its role in tumorigenesis and chemoresistance. To study the molecular effects of replication stress and the factors associated with it, molecular cloning, in vitro and in vivo CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, modern sequencing and proteomics technologies and mouse transplantations in combination with structural technologies like Electron Microscopy and single molecule imaging technologies will be used.

Requirements

  • We are searching for a postdoctoral researcher with a PhD degree with experience in molecular biology techniques and mammalian tissue culture.
  • Qualifications to work with mouse models (Article 12), clinical material and experience in electron microscopy and single-molecule imaging would be an advantage.
  • Interest in learning and implementing new technologies in the lab.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving skills, organizational skills and ability to work with others.
  • Being able to present a certificate of good conduct is a condition for the appointment

Conditions of employment

  • You will receive a temporary position for 1 years.
  • The gross monthly salary amounts a maximum of € € 4485,- gross, (scale 10.5) depending on your level of education and relevant experience and based on a full-time working week of 36 hours. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Medical Centers (CAO UMC).
  • Excellent fringe benefits, such as a 13th month that is already paid out in November and a individual travel expense package.
  • An International Office which aids you in preparing for you arrival and stay.
  • Pension insurance with ABP. We take care of approximately 2/3 of the monthly contribution.
  • Special benefits, such as a incompany physiotherapist and bicycle repairer. And there is also a gym where you can work on your fitness after work.
