Job descriptionTogether with colleagues from the Center for Learning and Innovation (CLI), the EUR Open & Responsible Science team and the EUR Copyright Information Point, you help Erasmus University to take Open Education to a higher level. As an
Scholarly Communications Steward with a focus on Open Educational Resources (OER), you support our academics in the process of creation, usage, evaluation, distribution, and preservation of educational materials in an open way. This includes being an active participant in national working groups on Open Educational resources.
In close collaboration with your EUR colleagues and peers of other Dutch universities, you help implementing strategic goals for Open Educational Resources university-wide. You do this by providing advice and support to EURS lecturers and contributing to the ongoing activities, such as training and workshops. You follow international developments in open education and scholarly communication closely and provide information to lecturers and university administrators.
In this position you will:
- Contribute to an EUR framework and guidelines for Open Education with a focus on open educational resources
- Provide training and advice to lecturers on various themes pertaining to open educational resources, both domain-specific and university-wide
- Review and update the current training materials to meet new norms in the field of open science
- Handle queries and requests received by the Library concerning open educational materials
- Give advice and support to lecturers which technical infrastructure to use for creating, publishing, and sharing open educational resources
- Encourage that the use and creation of open educational resources become an integral part of the didactic approach in the design of courses
- Supply annual reports on the (re)use of educational material in the EUR Educational Repository internally (to EUR Schools) and externally and ensure compliancy with the Easy Access Agreement
- Identify funding opportunities to aid grassroots projects and collaborate in national Open Science infrastructural projects related to open text books
- Follow new (inter)national developments in open education and translate those to EUR context by writing recommendations, reports, or guidelines
- Foster institutional collaborations with departments CLI, EUR Library Education Support, and engage in national and international networks related to open education
- Ensure that EUR is compliant to the Easy Access Agreement
