Job description

Help build smart IT at Wageningen University & Research. As a Medior ServiceNow Consultant, you'll help make our digital services better with ServiceNow. You will work with CMDB, ITOM and ITAM in a team where you can learn, grow and have a real impact.

Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is a leading university for education and research and is investing heavily in digitisation. ServiceNow helps us to make IT processes smarter, faster and clearer.

For our Enterprise Service Management team, we are looking for a Medior ServiceNow Consultant. You set up and improve the platform for ServiceNow, ensure that CMDB data is correct and support integrations with other systems. You will work with ITSM, ITOM and ITAM and develop further in areas such as Discovery and ACC.

You will be part of our central IT department with about 200 colleagues. Together, we deliver modern IT for students, researchers and staff, with a focus on digitisation, security, data and cloud. There is plenty of room for growth - WUR was named the best employer for IT specialists in 2024 for a reason.

What will you do?
  • Provision and improve ServiceNow (CMDB, ITOM, ITAM, and ITSM).
  • Ensuring that CMDB data is correct and remains neat.
  • Retrieving wishes from the organization and translating them into smart ServiceNow solutions.
  • Build workflows, forms, catalog items, and automations.
  • Helping with Discovery, service mapping and platform upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot ServiceNow issues (2nd/3rd line) and create clear documentation.

Requirements

  • HBO Bachelor in IT / Computer Science / Information Systems (or similar).
  • ServiceNow CSA Certification.
  • 2–5 years of proven experience with ServiceNow.
  • Ervaring met ITSM (Incident, Change, Request, Problem).
  • Basic knowledge: CSSD, knowledge of infrastructure, CMDB and ITIL processes.
  • Basic scripting (preferably JavaScript; PowerShell/Python is a nice bonus).
  • Interested in growing in Discovery, CMDB and CSDM.
  • Fluent Dutch and English.

You think logically, like structure and want systems and data to be right. You can explain technical matters in a simple way and easily interact with both IT colleagues and users. You take initiative, like to solve problems and want to continue to develop yourself within ServiceNow.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

Wageningen University & Research offers excellent terms of employment. A few highlights from our Collective Labour Agreement include:
  • working hours that can be discussed and arranged so that they allow for the best possible work-life balance;
  • sabbatical leave, study leave, and partially paid parental leave;
  • there is a strong focus on vitality and you can make use of the sports facilities available on campus for a small fee;
  • a fixed year-end bonus of 8,3%;
  • excellent pension scheme.

In addition to these first-class employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between € 3,399 and € 6,228 for a full-time 36-hour working week, according to the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 10-11). In addition, a 32-hour contract can be discussed. We initially offer a one-year contract, with the intention of converting it to an indefinite contract. Are you an internal applicant? Then your current contract is the starting point. Of course, we would be happy to talk to you if you have any questions about this.

Wageningen University & Research offers plenty of opportunities for growth and development with a strong internal recruitment policy and excellent training opportunities.

You will work on the greenest and most innovative campus in the Netherlands, in an international and open working atmosphere.
