The Erasmus School of Economics (ESE) focuses on acquiring excellent research grants. Within the Research Support team of Dean's Office, our current Funding Manager Research supports all ESE researchers who are applying or want to apply for a wide range of research grants. This includes the various collaborative grants from NWO, but also internationally within the European Commission's Horizon Europe program, and globally where relevant.
ESE has ambitious goals to expand the possibilities of collaborative grants and is therefore expanding the team with this Funding Manager Collaborative Grants position.
Job descriptionAs Funding Manager Collaborative Grants, you will be responsible for early identification and creation of collaborative grant opportunities for national and international funding for our researchers working in Social Sciences.
Your primary objective is to scout for research or project ideas, to identify funding opportunities and to match them to our researchers - and vice versa. In addition, you provide guidance to researchers throughout the full pre-grant application process. Thanks to your organisational skills and a good eye for detail, you set up a tailor-made support structure for researchers which helps them to write high-quality proposals. You positively inspire and encourage researchers to apply for collaborative grants, foster their engagement and create lasting partnerships with impact.
You build and maintain a network with external relations from public and private institutes. You take on the role of point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
You will report to the Head of Dean's Office and report functionally to the Vice-Dean of Research at Erasmus School of Economics. You will also work closely with your fellow Funding Manager Research, Project Control colleagues, and various other colleagues, both within the school and on campus.
Responsibilities - Scout for research projects within ESE.
- Identify, create and match opportunities for collaborative grants from NWO and other national and international funding agencies (Horizon Europe, Erasmus+), and connect them with our researchers within ESE.
- Support researchers in applying for collaborative grants, coach and guide them throughout the entire application process.
- Act as first point of contact for ESE researchers who want to apply for a collaborative grant.
- Organize internal coordination with relevant research grant processes, such as internal checks and project control.
- Organize funding information sessions, training sessions, and workshops on collaborative grants, where relevant in collaboration with others within the school, in the field of Social Sciences.
- Proactively engage with external contacts: partner institutes and societal stakeholders and relevant agencies, to anticipate new developments and assist in setting up consortia.
- Participate in national and international sessions and meetings relevant for the field of collaborative grants in Social Sciences, where you represent our interests and simultaneously build a network.
