We invite applications for a PhD position in theoretical/computational biological and soft matter physics at Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. The position is part of a nation-wide research consortium on cancer metastasis, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in close collaboration with experimentalists.
Project descriptionThe PhD project focuses on the active-matter physics of cancer metastasis. The aim of this project is to develop and apply new computational (coarse-grained) active-matter models for cell migration in complex biological environments, in order to shed light on the early stages of cancer metastasis. This project is part of a multidisciplinary NWO ENW-GROOT consortium, allowing for a unique collaboration with leading experts in experimental biophysics, cell biology, and cancer biology.
The project will be carried out in
Theory of Polymers and Soft Matter group at the Department of Applied Physics, Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands. The project will be done under the supervision of Dr. Liesbeth Janssen and Prof. Kees Storm.
