Job description

Rotterdam School of Management , Erasmus University (RSM) is looking for a researcher (0.4-0.5 FTE) for the Horizon 2020 Equal4Europe project, which is funded by the EU and is run as a collaboration between six European universities. Equal4Europe will develop and implement tailored gender equality plans to realise sustainable cultural and institutional change. You will be the lynch pin for the project within RSM, co-ordinating and engaging with RSM's institutes and specialist centres and well as its departments such as HR, marketing, student recruitment, executive education, and ECWO - the Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisations. You will also co-ordinate, support and conduct research and implementation activities under the supervision of RSM's project lead and with Equal4Europe partners throughout Europe. You will report to the ECWO Executive Director and the RSM Equal4Europe project leader.

Your main tasks
The researcher will actively participate in desk research as well as field research, and will be the first point of contact for Equal4Europe stakeholders at RSM and in Erasmus University Rotterdam. They will be co-ordinating activities such as research field work and events, as well as general organisation tasks to keep the project running optimally.

Requirements

  • A relevant MSc qualification (or equivalent)
  • At least three years of working experience, preferably in international higher education
  • Very good commands of spoken and written English and Dutch (C1 level for both)
  • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills with regard to gender issues
  • Experience of research field work, research analysis and writing research reports
  • Excellent command of relevant software packages (MS Office, Excel)
  • Command of relevant data analysis software packages such as SPSS, Qualtrics, or Nvivo, or the willingness to learn
  • A team player, and also able to work in an autonomous way and take initiatives
  • Ability to interact and communicate efficiently with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational skills and a service-minded and pro-active attitude
  • Affinity with higher education and academic research

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 12 months.

The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU). We offer a 0.4-0.5 FTE contract, initially for 1 year with a possibility of extension up to the duration of the Equal4Europe project (Dec 2023).

Salary is subject to training and experience ranging from €2,790 up to €4,402 gross per month, based on a full-time contract of 38 hours (scale 10 CAO NU).

Erasmus University Rotterdam offers attractive employment conditions, including an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, holiday allowance of 8 per cent, extensive leave facilities for a healthy work-life balance (41 days a year based on a 40-hour work week), and a good pension fund. Employees are also entitled to use various facilities, such as sport facilities, a theatre and a library.

Your work will be carried out in both RSM's department of Business-Society Management, and in the Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisations.
