Job description

The successful applicant will work at the nexus of AI/ML-based optimization algorithms and wireless networks in the context of the European project DAEMON. This is a large-scale research project focusing on Network Intelligence for Adaptive and Self-learning Mobile Networks, with industry partners such as Telefonica, Nokia Bell Labs, NEC Europe..

Requirements

Candidate Profile: Applicants for this position should have the following:

  • PhD in Mathematics/OR, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
  • Publications in first-tier networking and/or AI/ML conferences.
  • Excellent level of spoken and written English
  • Desirable: experience in wireless testbeds, network measurements, data analysis.  

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 tot 3 jaar.

Faculty Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) brings together three disciplines - electrical engineering, mathematics and computer science. Combined, they reinforce each other and are the driving force behind the technology we use in our daily lives. Technology such as the electricity grid, which our faculty is helping to make future-proof. We are also working on a world in which humans and computers reinforce each other. We are mapping out disease processes using single cell data, and using mathematics to simulate gigantic ash plumes after a volcanic eruption.
