Job description

At Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM), we provide research support to the faculty, PhD candidates and professional staff at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) and at the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE).The part-time PhD programme was launched in 2015, and its main target audience are senior (international) practitioners with backgrounds in the fields of business and economics.

In this programme, we're looking for an internationally orientated course coordinator to strengthen the programme's administrative team. In short, you.

As our course coordinator, you work closely with the programme's coordinators and administrators and with the programme's Academic Director. As part of the ERIM team, you join 12+ research support professionals. You're occupied with and responsible for the planning, scheduling and organisation of the programme's modules and courses. You serve as the first point of contact for lecturers and PhD candidates. Additionally, it's your job to support all the processes relating to both course and student administration, including the financial aspects of course delivery.

Your main tasks
As our part-time PhD course coordinator, we expect you to:
  • schedule the annual courses and modules for all cohorts, in consultation with the lecturers involved with the programme;
  • contact the lecturers regarding the courses' description and materials (pre-readings, books, assignments);
  • execute course administration tasks in a timely way, including uploading course materials, course guides, grades, etc.;
  • coordinate the communication about course planning and execution (e.g., availability of course materials) with both lecturers and PhD candidates;
  • collect course evaluations and couple feedback to lecturers and the academic director;
  • process the (financial) administration of the course planning and delivery; and
  • contribute to the smooth and optimal service delivery of the part-time PhD programme, including the admissions to the programme.

Requirements
You're eligible for this role if you can demonstrate:
  • relevant professional experience (2+ years), preferably in programme management/administration;
  • a completed BSc (or MSc) degree in business, economics social sciences or related field;
  • an excellent command of relevant software packages (MS Office, Excel) and preferably research information/course administration systems and reporting tools; and
  • a good command of the English and Dutch language, both spoken and written.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 12 months.

Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of €2,710 gross per month (scale 8 CAO NU) up to a maximum of € 3,619 gross per month (scale 8 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours (UFO Medewerker Studentenzaken).
