We’re looking for several enthusiastic part-time lecturers to supervise master theses in RSM’s MSc Finance & Investments programme.

Job description
An enthusiastic and inspiring lecturer who can help us to positively influence the future of finance through education. The lecturer will be coaching and supervising master’s theses and/or bachelor projects. The number of theses you will supervise depends on the number of days you work.

Our master’s students are those on RSM’s MSc Finance & Investments, a world-class, one-year general finance curriculum, in which students follow compulsory and elective courses and write a thesis. Our two bachelor programmes, the BSc International Business Administration and BSc Business Administration, have finance courses in all three years. The BSc project is a group project in Year 3.

Requirements

Successful applicants are expected to have a PhD degree (or be in the process of obtaining one) in finance, accounting or economics, to demonstrate a strong interest in teaching at the BSc and MSc levels and have a proven track record in this respect. Candidates are expected to be fluent in English, our language of communication.

You are:
  • a passionate and persuasive teacher
  • a team player and are open to collaboration with faculty members across RSM's courses and programmes
  • eager to deliver high quality content and constructive feedback
  • proactive, conscientious and can organise well
  • fluent in written and spoken English. You will be expected to teach at an academic level in English.

Conditions of employment

The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 3,877 (scale 10 CAO NU) and up to a maximum of € 5,929 gross per month (scale 11 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours.

Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) has attractive employment conditions, which include a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, and a considerate amount of vacation days.

The Department of Finance at RSM has a large international faculty educated at renowned institutions in Europe, the USA, and Asia. The department has a strong research tradition evidenced by publications in top journals, an active PhD programme, and research visits to leading schools in the USA.
