Job description

In this project new types of Nanodiscs will be employed to enable applications in vaccine development and screening in drug development. Several well-characterized and medically relevant membrane proteins will be produced and inserted into Nanodiscs. The constructs will be characterized with biophysical techniques and screening tests will be performed. Also, immunogenicity and toxicity of the new constructs will be determined. The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to carry out the biophysical characterization as well as to oversee the entire project, and will be collaborating closely with the technician appointed to this project for the production of the membrane proteins. The project is a collaboration of Leiden University, Batavia Biosciences and ZoBio, all located at the Leiden Bioscience Park. The postdoctoral researcher will be seconded for several months to Batavia Biosciences at their site in Boston, MA. The remainder of the work will be carried out at the Leiden Institute of Chemistry.
