Job description

The instructor is expected to teach two German language and Culture courses per semester. The general program of the courses can be found at www.ucr.nl/. The teaching load will be 60 hours per course per semester plus preparation time.

Requirements

The candidate should have:

  • At least a Masters (or equivalent)
  • Preferably a completed doctoral (PhD) certificate or close to completion
  • Excellent English language skills (written & spoken): a minimum of CEF-level C1
  • Teaching experience in the German language at the relevant university level
  • Native German speaker or CEF C2 proficiency
  • Evidence of teaching excellence (evaluations)

 

Conditions of employment

UCR initially offers a half year contract running from January 1, 2019 to July 1, 2019 on the level of Assistant Professor (University Teacher). The contract is initially for 0.6fte (22.4 hours per week), however it could be possible to combine this job with possible other openings at UCR which will lead to an expansion of the working hours / fte. Salary will be based on VSNU salary scales in the range from (min. scale 10) to (max. scale 11). Travel costs within the Netherlands will be partly reimbursed. Furthermore, UCR offers secondary benefits according to the Collective Labor Agreement Dutch Universities, such as:
