The Department of Clinical Psychological Science of the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience is devoted to research and education in the domain of clinical psychology/experimental psychopathology (EPP). We are looking for a new, enthusiastic, and bright assistant professor to strengthen our team.

0.45 fte of your work is devoted to educational activities in the (clinical) psychology and mental health courses and trainings of the bachelor or master curricula of FPN and FHML. Guiding students in writing their bachelor or master thesis is also an important part of your educational work.

The remaining 0.55 fte has to be devoted to conducting research within the domain of clinical psychology. Your research interest should reasonably fit within the research spectrum of the EPP research institute at Maastricht University (see http://www.epp-research.nl).

Requirements

Requirements

You have a master degree in Psychology and have acquired a Ph.D. title on the basis of research on abnormal/clinical psychology, preferably within the context of EPP.

You have good educational competencies and skills, and already possess a BKO certification.

You are capable of initiating and maintaining your own research line (in collaboration with other researchers of the EPP research institute) and have a solid publication track-record.

Initially, the candidate will be employed on a temporary contract as assistant professor (level 2) and agree on specific development goals. Five years after the initial appointment, the work of the candidate will be evaluated and if the development goals are met, he/she will be promoted to assistant professor (level 1) on a permanent contract. The evaluation can be brought forward if criteria are met earlier. On the candidate’s request the evaluation can be deferred in case of special personal circumstances, such as pregnancy leave, parental leave or chronic illness.
