The Institute for Molecules and Materials (IMM) at Radboud University (Nijmegen, Netherlands) has openings for several PhD candidates in the three research themes in which the IMM is active: Structure and Dynamics of Molecules, Chemistry and Spectroscopy of Complex Molecular Systems, and Quantum Matter.
As a PhD candidate you will carry out academic research under the supervision of a professor in that particular field. You will report and publish your research findings in separate articles during the course of your PhD. These articles will form part of your doctoral thesis, which you will defend at the end of your research in order to obtain the title of doctor. In addition to your research activities you will be expected to take part in the IMM education programme. As part of this programme you will improve your basic skills (e.g. in academic writing) and also broaden and deepen your knowledge by participating in symposia, colloquia and summer schools. Moreover, you will be expected to take part in the teaching of Bachelor’s and Master’s students.
