Job description

The Space Systems Engineering group is offering a position for a Lecturer to support the demand for education and associated research resulting from a growing number of students. The lecturer will support selected educational activities in the BSc and MSc programmes. The lecturer will support the development of a new MSc course. An integral part of the task is to supervise MSc students in their literature studies and master thesis work. The successful candidate will thereby be supporting existing research at SSE. We are seeking candidates who have a proven research record in one of the following areas:
1. Micro-propulsion (e.g. resistojets, MEMS, fluidic and mechanical aspects of propulsion, green propellants).
2. Distributed space systems (e.g. navigation and control of formations, constellations, and swarms; on-orbit servicing, such as active space debris removal).
Please note that this position is not a PhD position and does not enable the candidate to pursue a PhD degree.

Requirements

You must have an MSc degree in Aerospace Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline and proven educational and research experience at university level. Your educational experience will stem from responsible educational activities in the BSc and/or MSC programme of a university. Your research experience will be in one of the areas described above. You are a well-organised, goal-oriented, accurate, and open-minded team player. Excellent communication skills are expected, and competence in written and spoken English is required.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 2 years.

Faculty Aerospace Engineering

The faculty of Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology is one of the world's largest faculties devoted entirely to aerospace engineering. In the Netherlands it is the only research and education institute directly related to the aerospace engineering sector. It covers the whole spectrum of aerospace engineering subjects.
