Job description

We have an opening for a highly motivated Assistant professor (f/m) in Supply Chain Management/Operations Research (32/38 hrs).  You are expected to contribute to the development of Decision Support Systems, based on models and techniques from Operations Research, Game Theory and Multi-agent systems, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics and Information System design. The potential of new technologies such as Internet of Things, cloud logistics, robotics and cyber physical systems challenge you to seek for new solutions that integrate economic and sustainability demands on global supply chains.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with proven research and teaching potential, with a strong quantitative background and a focus on Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, Manufacturing/Service Operations Management or Supply Chain information technologies.

  • You hold a PhD in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems or a comparable domain. Doctoral students near completion of their degrees will also be considered;
  • Your ability to conduct academic research is reflected in an established record of publications in leading scientific journals;
  • Your have the ability and desire to teach bachelor and master courses and oversee students is shown by your experience in this area;
  • You have an excellent command of the English language and good communication skills

Conditions of employment

You will be appointed as assistant professor for a period of two years, with prospects of a permanent position upon good performance. The department and faculty actively supports growth in research, teaching and your career.

  • Your starting salary is between € 3.475 to € 5.405 gross per month based on your experience
  • We provide a solid pension scheme
  • You will receive aholiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3%
  • You have a minimum of 29 holidays in case of full-time employment
