Job description

We are inviting applications for the position of a scientific supervisor / facility manager for the NMR facility of Utrecht University and the Dutch National uNMR-NL facility, starting from April 1st, 2018.

You will be responsible for the management of the NMR facility of the NMR Spectroscopy group of Utrecht University and the Dutch national uNMR-NL project for ultra-high field NMR. The facility and project comprise both solid- and solution-state NMR as well as micro-imaging. You will train and support national and international facility users. Management tasks will involve regular interactions with the uNMR-NL consortium, the advisory board as well as other academic and industrial partners.

Requirements

You should hold a PhD in a NMR-related field with practical experience in implementing state-of-the-art NMR methods on high-field instruments. Excellent communication skills in English are required. Previous experience in at least two of the three research areas (solid-state NMR, solution-state NMR & micro-imaging) and in the management of NMR facilities is an advantage.

Conditions of employment

This full-time position will be initially offered for a period of two years. Following a positive evaluation, the position can become permanent. The gross salary - depending on previous qualifications and experience - is in the range between €3,475 and maximum €5,405 per month (scale 11-12 according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) gross per month for a full-time position.

The salary is supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% per year.
