The KIN Research Group at the School of Business and Economics, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam invites applications for the following two positions:

Assistant / Associate Professors in Information Systems, Digital Transformation and/or Sharing Economy

Position
We are continuing our search for top-flight talent to join our outstanding faculty. Applications are invited at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.
 
We are looking for an internationally oriented, ambitious yet collegial scholar who shares our passion for the field of digital innovation and will contribute to our research and teaching. Tasks
• Teaching (in English or Dutch) courses on digital innovation and related topics (including courses on Information Systems, (Digital) Innovation Management and/or Sharing Economy) in our MSc, BSc and executive programs;
• Conducting research related to the subjects mentioned above;
• Publishing in international journals;
• Coordination of courses, and eventually participation in project groups or committees within the Department or Faculty;
• Contributing to the further development of the KIN Center for Digital Innovation in its collaboration with the business community and executive education.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have completed or will be near the completion of their doctoral studies, and will need to have a demonstrable capacity to publish at the very top level and also an ambitious future research agenda. Evidence of an emerging record of publishing in high quality academic journals would be an advantage. Candidates with a proven research record are also encouraged to apply (salary and position will then reflect the seniority of the candidate).
 
If necessary, you should be willing to acquire a basic qualification in teaching (‘BKO’) as demanded by Dutch universities. The position of Assistant Professor is a tenure track position of 6 years and possibility of tenure. The starting date is flexible but preferably as soon as possible.

Conditions of employment

The salary will be in accordance with university regulations for academic personnel, and depending on experience, range from a minimum of € 3427,00 up to a maximum of € 4691,00 gross per month for an Assistant Professor and € 4749,00 up to a maximum of € 5780,00 for an Associate In addition to this, we offer holiday allowance, end-of-year allowance, and other benefits.

Department

The KIN Research Group is part of the School of Business and Economics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and is a leading institute for research and teaching in the field of Digital Innovation and Transformation. KIN is home to an multidisciplinary and highly international group of researchers with a strong research and teaching tradition and a passion for the field. The group is very well connected to both the academic and the business communities. Our research is characterized by a practice-based approach and close collaboration with our many business partners and researchers from other institutes, leading to publications in the leading journals in our field.
 
In terms of teaching, we offer a newly developed and challenging MSc Program in Digital Business and Innovation, with around 100 new students in 2017. The program delivers in-depth knowledge on Digital Innovation, based on fundamental theoretical perspectives and with a strong focus on implications for (and collaboration with) practice. Furthermore, we also offer courses on IS, digital innovation, new ways of working, and (qualitative) research methods in the BSc programs in (International) Business Administration.
 
Finally, we have recently started the KIN Center for Digital Innovation which aims to become a platform for collaboration with business, offering various forms of executive education, research collaboration and knowledge sharing sessions for business partners.
