Job description

We are looking for a full Professor of Business Management and Organisation (0.8 - 1.0 fte), who will lead the Chair Group Business Management and Organisation (BMO) at Wageningen University & Research.

As head of the BMO Group, the new chair holder is expected to lead by example, contributing to the development of education and innovative research with a focus on strategic management and organisation, needed for companies and other parties operating in a business context to adapt to the highly dynamic changes in chains and networks of production and consumption. The Group is also a prominent player in the development of so called 'living labs on entrepreneurship' within Wageningen University & Research. The chair holder will further strengthen the position of the Group in national and international networks and manage the Group's internal processes and relations in an effective and constructive way.

Requirements

To accomplish this, we expect the chair holder to have:
  • An inspiring long term vision on the development of the scientific field;
  • A scientific track record in the field of strategic management and organization of companies;
  • Experience in management of professionals and an inspiring, collegial, and effective unifying leadership style, characterized by the passion to develop people, to build teams, and to create synergy;
  • Motivating teaching, supervising, and course development qualities, at Bachelor, Master, and PhD level; and interest in innovating teaching methods;
  • A PhD degree in Business Management and Organisation or a related discipline;
  • A proven record in acquisition of substantial research funds from different sources;
  • Experience in the domain of food, agribusiness, and/or environment.

Conditions of employment
