For the Research Group Real Estate, we seek a Real Estate professor.
Your profile
We seek a real estate expert with a clear focus on real estate development, innovation and valuation. You are capable of linking the research results to the research group and anchoring them in our education with a primary focus on the relationship with the Built Environment, Facility Management and Real Estate Management study programmes. You set out a clear path for the research group, give tangible content and allure to the group’s themes and enthusiastically focus on bringing the research group to a higher level. The focus always lies on identifying the economic basis for spatial interventions and working in a multidisciplinary setting. In addition, you are capable of calculating the economic value of the interventions developed by the other NoorderRuimte research groups and assessing their social impact.
The Research Group Real Estate
Real Estate represents economic value first and foremost, but also value for the user and for society in general. The focus within the research group lies on investigating the interaction between the different value aspects within the themes of NoorderRuimte. The users of the built environment are central in these investigations. The research group adopts an economic and social perspective, for example at the interface between the real estate economy and demographic transition and the interface between real estate value and health and well-being.
What do we expect of the Real Estate professor?
The professor is responsible for the Research Group Real Estate. As Real Estate professor, you work together closely with the other professors within our Research Centre and report directly to the dean of the School of Business Management.

You do so together with a team of experts active in the profession and lecturers/researchers; i.e. the research group or knowledge network. You publish the resulting knowledge and insights and use them to develop educational materials and practical applications in the professional field. You are literally the bridge between education and practice. You lead practice-oriented research projects and support curricula together with the members of the research group and practice, and with other research groups in our research centre. You formulate research proposals, raise funding for these proposals from external sources (objective: 40% external funding), and make sure that the proposals are implemented. In addition, you maintain the regional, national and international networks in which the research group participates in order to strengthen the collaboration between the professional field and the university of applied sciences, and intensify and optimise knowledge sharing. As a professor, you are also involved in educational development, e.g. developing a master.
