The Department of Foundations and Methods of Law of the Faculty of Law of Maastricht University intends to appoint a fulltime Lecturer (‘Docent’) with a starting date in January 2020. The appointee will be required to teach at bachelor and master level, to contribute to the development of courses, and to fulfil administrative duties.

Requirements

- Expertise in a topic that falls within the domain of the Department (e.g. Legal History, Jurisprudence,    Legal Methods, Legal Skills);

-  PhD degree in Law (or having obtained a PhD degree at the time of appointment);

-  Excellent teaching and organisational skills;

-  Willingness to move to Maastricht or its near environment;

-  Ability to teach Dutch language courses is an advantage.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 4 years.

The appointment as Lecturer will initially be for a minimum period of 4 years. The salary depends on academic qualifications and experience. The salary is likely to be set in salary scale 10 of the CAO, with a minimum gross month salary of € 2.709,00 and a maximum gross month salary of € 4.274,00.
