Assistant professor positions involve a six-year tenure-track. Tenure decisions are based on individual performance, principally in research and teaching.
Candidates for the position of assistant professor should have a Ph.D., or expect to complete a Ph.D. in the near future, and should demonstrate the potential for outstanding achievements in research and teaching in the fields of accounting, auditing and/or management control. All applicants are expected to teach in English. The teaching load is moderate.
The compensation package is competitive relative to European salaries and includes several secondary benefits (such as a pension plan that is partially funded by the university). Favorable tax agreements may apply to non-Dutch applicants.

Successful candidates will work at the Erasmus School of Economics. The Accounting Research Group at Erasmus University Rotterdam consist of the two accounting departments at Erasmus School of Economics and Rotterdam School of Management, respectively. The Erasmus Accounting Research Group has a strong research tradition and an international orientation, as evidenced by publications in top journals, research collaboration with academics at leading U.S. schools, an international seminar series and a U.S. style Ph.D. program. It is currently in a process of growth and rapid development to establish itself as one of the primary accounting research groups in Europe. Erasmus University has access to excellent research facilities, including most major databases (WRDS, CRSP, Compustat, Datastream, Bloomberg, I/B/E/S, TAQ, etc.), a state-of-the-art behavioral lab and an experimental economics lab.
