Job description
The department studies the molecular mechanisms of multicomponent biological pathways focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms and biological function of complex genetic interactions in cancer and aging. Concerning this vacancy the work will focus on studying the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiovascular biology of diseases such as aneurysms and cardiac failure both in vitro and in vivo.
The candidate should have B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Life Science or equivalent study, with an art 6/12 degree.
Experience in cell culture, immunohistochemistry and molecular techniques (PCR, western blotting etc) is an asset.
Experience with advanced microscopy and/or in vivo imaging is highly appreciated.
We expect the candiate to be creative, pro-active with good analytical skills and a sound academic attitude.
Good communication skills in English, both in writing and speaking are required.
The candidate should be a team-player, able to work in a collaborative environment.
Conditions of employment
The gross monthly salary amounts a minimum of € 2.351,- ( scale 7) and a maximum of € 3.604,- (scale 8), depending on your level of education and relevant experience and based on a full-time working week of 36 hours. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Medical Centers (CAO UMC).
