Are you interested in seed science and do you have affinity with the seed industry? Then we are looking for you.

We are looking for a talented post-doctoral researcher with experience in the field of plant physiology, an interest in the fundamental and applied aspects of seed biology and with affinity for education activities.
This postdoc position is created in the frame of the Seeds for the Future initiative in which Wageningen University & Research joins forces with the seed industry to safeguard the future of seed research and education in the Netherlands.

You will be involved in several research projects and teaching activities. The latter include the contribution to BSc and MSc courses, supervision of MSc and PhD students and the Master Class Seed Technology. You are expected to be involved in writing project proposals. You are also expected to build further on the existing national and international collaboration networks, including public-private partnerships.

Requirements

You are enthusiastic, proactive, you have experience with working in a multidisciplinary team and have excellent communication skills. You hold a PhD degree in Biology, Plant Sciences or another relevant field and have experience with physiological analyses. You are curiosity driven and passionate about research and training students. You are interested in the application of your research into practice. Conditions of employment

We offer you challenging postdoc position at the Laboratory of Plant Physiology in Wageningen. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive salary from a minimum of € 3123,- to a maximum of € 4274,- for a full working week of 38 hours in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement Dutch Universities. The position is for three years with the aim to be extended into a permanent position at either Wageningen University or Wageningen Research. At first you will receive a contract for one year.
In addition, we offer:
  • 8% holiday allowance;
  • a structural year-end bonus of 8.3%;
