Radboud University wants to create innovative, inspiring learning environments with room for personal learning routes and interdisciplinary collaboration, where students can take responsibility for their own learning, and where students and teachers inspire each other, feeling committed to each other, society and to the world around them. 
This junior researcher project focuses on (a) the creation of new, authentic academic learning environments that are more strongly rooted in society and contribute to the sustainability agendas of academia and responsible organisations, and (b) learning processes in communities of learners involved in a co-creative design, built on learner ownership and self-directed learning.

Requirements

For this position, we are looking for a creative person with an open mind, who is enthusiastic about higher education innovation, and sensitive to the needs and struggles that students and teachers might have regarding this topic. In addition, you should have: 
  • An MSc in a relevant field (educational sciences, management science, social science or philosophy).
  • Experience in university teaching or the desire to gain such experience.
  • Experience with qualitative, quantitative and design-based research techniques.
  • A collaborative attitude (as academic research is not just an individual endeavour).
  • Organisational skills.
  • Enthusiasm to organise events at the TLC.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 2 jaar.

  • Employment: 20 - 40 hours per week.
  • A maximum gross monthly salary of € 4.402 based on a 38-hour working week (salary scale 10).
  • The exact salary depends on the candidate's qualifications and amount of relevant professional experience.
  • In addition to the salary: an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
  • Duration of the contract: 2 years.
  • The intended start date is 1 September 2020.
  • You will be able to make use of our Dual Career Service: our Dual Career Officer will assist with family-related support, such as child care, and help your partner prepare for the local labour market and with finding an occupation.

You will join an interdisciplinary group of researchers at the Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre, working in cooperation with the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the Nijmegen School of Management. You will be appointed at the Radboud University Medical Center Health Academy (RHA).
