Job description

As a lecturer, you will teach courses in the Bachelor's degree programme in European Law School, the Master's degree programme in International and European Law, and the Master's degree programme in Dutch Law. More specifically, you will be responsible for the subjects 'English Legal Terminology', 'Writing Legal Papers' and 'Legal English'. These courses lay the foundation for a good command of spoken and written legal English. This will not only help students to do even better in courses in international and European law, but will also enable them to gain insight into the subtleties of this legal language, which undoubtedly will prove useful in their future careers. The three modules mentioned are spread over two semesters and vary in size (2, 1 and 7 credits respectively). You may also be asked to teach equivalent courses offered by the CPO (centre for postgraduate legal education). In addition, you will occasionally assist the faculty's academic and support staff in drawing up English-language communications and publications.
