The laboratory of cell and developmental biology (https://lpcdb.kaust.edu.sa) within the Biological and Environmental Science and Engineering Division (BESE) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) seeks a highly motivated and talented postdoc to join a dynamic team of plant developmental biologist at KAUST.
When challenged with biotic stresses, plants redirect their resources toward a defence response that occurs at the expense of growth. Recently we have identified a set of transcription factors involved in this process in Arabidopsis and tomatoes and we are currently characterizing their function in regulating growth and response to biotic stresses.
The candidate must have a strong background in genetics, crop biology, tissue culture and transformation, molecular biology and histology.
Experience in immunocytochemistry and RNA in situ hybridization technologies and confocal microscopy is highly recommended.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are a must.
Fixed-term contract: The position would be initially for one year, but with possibility for renewal for a maximum of 3 years depending on the candidate’s performance.
