The Business management and Organisation Group (BMO) at Wageningen University and Research is looking for an enthusiastic Academic Teacher (0.5 fte) with expertise in the area of management with a focus on food business and food quality and demonstrated ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary setting, specifically food science disciplines.

The successful candidate must have experience in academic teaching and a passion for conducting (applied) research in a relevant topic, with intellectual engagement at PhD level.

In this challenging career trajectory you will:
  • enhance education in the area of management with a focus on food business and food quality;
  • develop and deliver high-quality teaching programs for Bachelor's and Master's students;
  • supervise Bachelor's and Master's thesis students;
  • supervise and mentor PhD and postgraduate students;
  • engage in research and contribute to the academic community through publications in journals and presentations at conferences;
  • maintain close links across the Wageningen campus and between disciplines;
  • engage in academic research in relevant topics.

You will work here
You will be part of the Business management and Organisation Group (BMO. The BMO group studies how companies support and carry together with others societal challenges depicted in UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Societal transitions are reflected on a company level in transitions concerning strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, organizational culture, and structures in alignment to changing business models, developing, and assimilating innovations both in products and processes, culminating in changing value chains and collaborations. Managing these transitions is needed: ultimately how transitions are managed determines the success. The BMO chair group at WU develops and offers insights into these company domains of business transition in relation to societal challenges.

Requirements

To further strengthen BMO and its part in food quality management your profile should have:
  • university (PhD) degree in a relevant BMO discipline (see above);
  • affinity with or passion for conducting (applied) research in a relevant discipline;
  • a substantial profile in the area of Management related to the food business, food quality and innovation;
  • open-mindedness to explore the BMO group-related fields of interest such as sustainability and entrepreneurship;
  • relevant and well-evaluated teaching experience and supervision of MSc / BSc students;
  • qualitative and quantitative research skills;
  • team spirit that is willing to contribute to the wider interests of the group.

Conditions of employment

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, we offer a competitive gross salary of between € 3.226 and € 5.090 for a full-time working week of 38 hours in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 10). This position is for 0.5 fte (20 hours).
