Department

Researchers at the Donders Centre for Neuroscience (DCN) aim to understand the complex neural systems underlying perceptual, motor and cognitive brain functions. They study these systems using experimental, computational and mathematical approaches. DCN currently consists of two sections: Neurobiology and Neurophysics. This position will be part of a newly implemented research line in the Neurophysics section, which focuses on Neurotechnology and Neurocomputation. The Neurotechnology research programme aims to apply and develop advanced technologies to understand the brain, build artificial brains, and aid in recovery when the brain is impaired or injured. The neurotechnology programme is based on a theoretical understanding of brain systems. Furthermore, this new research line is established within the framework of a new Neurotechnology Master’s programme that will be launched in September 2026. This programme aims to train future generations of scientists, clinicians and engineers in the fields of neurotechnology and neuroengineering as part of a strategic initiative by Radboud University and the Faculty of Science.

The Donders Centre for Neuroscience (DCN) is part of the world-renowned Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour (DI). DI is a world-class interfaculty research centre that hosts more than 800 researchers devoted to understanding the mechanistic underpinnings of the human mind. It fosters a collaborative, multidisciplinary and supportive research environment with a diverse international staff.
