Job description

You will be part of the project “ProgrammE in Costing, resource use measurement and outcome valuation for Use in multi-sectoral National and International health economic evaluAtions” (PECUNIA) which has been funded by the European Union. The international PECUNIA consortium is a unique network of ten partners from six countries with relevant complementary methodological expertise. PECUNIA aims to harmonise methods and standardise tools for the comprehensive measurement and valuation of economic, societal and wellbeing impacts within a multi-sectoral economic evaluation. You will be one of the junior researchers of this project and you will have the following main tasks i) Standardize the measurement of intersectoral costs  with a focus on the educational and criminal justice sector, ii) standardize the valuation of these (and other relevant) intersectoral costs within economic evaluations and iii) provide country-specific contributions for PECUNIA for the Netherlands in collaboration with researchers from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

For this project you will be working within the department of Health Services Research of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (Dr. Aggie Paulus, Dr. Ruben Drost, Prof. Silvia Evers and Luca Janssen (PhD-student) and closely work together with the department of Clinical Epidemiology and Medical Technology Assessment of the Maastricht University Medical Center + (Prof. Carmen Dirksen).

Requirements

  • You have a master’s degree in health sciences, health economics, public health or a related discipline with a substantial component of research training or relevant research experience.
  • You are enthusiastic and like to work in an international context.
  • You have a demonstrated interest and understanding of health technology assessment, health economics and economic evaluation.
  • You are versatile (a generalist) and able to contribute to multidisciplinary research.
  • You have excellent writing skills (both in Dutch and English), and preferably have earlier published publications.
  • You are able to work independently, to take initiatives and capable of managing deadlines as well as working together with other researchers in the project.
  • You have good communication skills to motivate a team to work towards the common success of a project.
  • You are available for this project starting from 1 September 2018.
  • You are able to attend the job interviews which will be held on 6 July 2018.
