Job description

We are looking for a lecturer, aspiring to build a career in university education. As a lecturer in our group, you will participate in the education program of HSO at Wageningen University. You will co-teach in the Bachelor program "Gezondheid en Maatschappij" and the Master program Communication, Health and Life Sciences, specialization Health and Society. The teaching of the classes involves lecturing, supervision of tutorials, BSc and MSc theses and internships. A key task will be to coordinate the Global Health course that uses a health promotion perspective to critically examine global health concerns, underlying causes and potential actions to address these concerns.

Are you a visionary and enthusiastic scholar and a teammate, dedicated to education and research in an interdisciplinary and international academic environment? Then we would like to invite you to apply for the position of Lecturer within our group.

You also have a
  • a MSc/PhD in the area of health promotion, with a particular interest in interdisciplinary approaches towards global health-related phenomena and the understanding of health inequalities;
  • experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods;skills in interdisciplinary thinking and are able to translate this to education in BSc and MSc programmes;
  • excellent didactic skills for teaching at both Bachelor and Master level (University Teacher Qualification is a preference);
  • skills in supervision of reflection and discussion processes among students;
  • excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • fluency in both Dutch and English is an absolute pre-requisite.

Conditions of employment

We offer you a full-time (1.0 FTE) temporary position for a period of 2 years. The salary is based on the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, gross monthly salary between € 3.111 and € 4.048 based on a full time employment and dependent on expertise and experience. Besides we offer 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end bonus, good study facilities and ABP pension fund.
