Then a research assistantship at the UvA Cultural Psychology Lab may be something for you!

We are looking for a Research assistant (4 days a week) to carry out tasks involved in the grant on 'Misrecognition of Minorities', awarded by the German Volkswagen Foundation, to a team of researchers from the UK, Germany, France, Hungary & The Netherlands (a grant proposal is available upon request – Prof. Bert Jan Doosje).

These tasks include:

• recruiting participants with diverse backgrounds;
• conducting and analyzing interviews;
• analyzing existing interviews (and potentially court files);
• creating questionnaires;
• analyzing quantitative data (using SPSS or Structural Equation Modelling);
• communicating the research findings within the international research team;
• drafting scientific articles and presentations.

You are a motivated person (m/v/x) who wants to pursue a career in academia (or wants to find out if this is something for you) and who:

• has  completed a Master or Research Master in (Social) Psychology;
• has affinity with research on intergroup relations;
• is able to work independently and in a team;
• is committed to working 4 days a week on this project (in Amsterdam);
• is fluent in English and ideally Dutch;
• has good (intercultural) communication skills;
• is willing to travel within Europe.

The position concerns a temporary appointment of 30,4 hours per week for a term of 8 months. This can be prolonged, barring unforeseen organisational developments and assuming sufficient FTE availability, up to a maximum of 22 months upon excellent performance.

For a Master in Psychology who just graduated, the salaryscale is 6.4 (€2,329 gross per month based on a full-time appointment for a 38-hour working week (as per the Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities).
