As professor of European Migration Law your tasks will include:

• teaching Master’s courses in European Migration Law and European and Comparative Refugee Law;
• teaching courses for lawyers and judges, a summer course on migration and citizenship and an international course for judges;
• taking day-to-day responsibility for the Centre for Migration Law (CMR);
• conducting, initiating and supervising fundamental and applied research on the topic of European and international refugee and migration law, both from a legal and an interdisciplinary perspective;
• actively generating research funding at a national and international level;
• strengthening the international and national profile of the CMR, Research Centre for State and Law (SteR) and the Faculty of Law;
• providing training and supervision to students in the Master’s phase and to PhD researchers and young post doctoral researchers working within the CMR;
• taking a leadership role within the CMR, SteR and the Faculty of Law.

• you hold a PhD in law;
• you have a strong publishing record in peer reviewed international academic literature;
• your publications show an outstanding knowledge of and expertise in European migration and asylum law, with an emphasis on migration law;
• you have excellent contacts with academics, legal practitioners and government officials (also at an international level);
• you have the proven ability to generate and coordinate research grants at a national and international level;
• you have a CV that shows your interest in cooperation in interuniversity and interdisciplinary research projects;
• you have a high proficiency in English(at least CERF level C1);
• you are able to show a clear vision on how to continue and further develop the ground-breaking work done at the Centre for Migration Law;
• your daily presence at the Faculty of Law will be expected and required;
• you speak Dutch or are willing to learn Dutch.

Faculty of Law
The Centre for Migration Law (CMR) of the Faculty of Law at Radboud University is a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence. The CMR brings together researchers from various disciplines and provides a stimulating environment for fundamental and applied research into national and international migration law. The CMR is unique in Europe because of its interdisciplinary approach and international staff, including lawyers, sociologists, anthropologists and political scientists. Within the department of Sociology of Law and Migration Law, the CMR is responsible for courses in European immigration law, European and comparative refugee law, Dutch migration law and a moot court. It also organises courses for judges, lawyers and legal practitioners. The CMR publishes two quarterly newsletters: one on European migration issues (NEMIS) and one on European asylum issues (NEAIS). Staff members of the CMR are the editors of the European Journal of Migration and Law and a book series on European immigration and asylum law and policy published by Brill. The CMR frequently organises conferences and also holds seminars every six weeks throughout the academic year. It has a guest researchers programme, focusing on young visiting researchers and PhD candidates from all over Europe, who can benefit from the expertise within the CMR.
 
Research at the CMR is conducted within the public law-oriented Research Centre for State and Law (SteR) of the Faculty of Law. The SteR delivers high-quality research exploring developments in the field of public law and, in particular, the relation between state and law. Your research will focus on migration and citizenship both from an institutional and a migrant perspective.
