Tilburg University Language Center is part of the Academic Services division and its main task is to provide a service in the area of language and academic skills teaching to students and staff members of all schools and service departments at Tilburg University.
For the fall semester (1 August 2019 – 1 February 2020), the English department is looking for:
Experienced Teachers of English for Academic Purposes
The job
As an English teacher, you will be teaching courses in General English and English for Academic Purposes at a variety of levels, ranging from freshman writing courses to specialized legal English or PhD writing and presentation courses. The dynamic environment in which you will be teaching requires flexibility, creativity and the ability to tailor your courses to the needs of your learners. You will be working within a close-knit and supportive team.
We are looking for an inspiring colleague who can work well within a team, is an excellent communicator, and has an academic skills teaching background who meets the following criteria:
Fixed-term contract: 6 months.
Tilburg University is rated among the top of Dutch employers and has excellent terms of employment. The selected candidate will be ranked in the Dutch university employment system as “Vaardigheidsdocent 2”), scale 10. The gross salary for a full-time appointment is max. € 4.274,- per month, based on education and experience. The successful candidate receives a contract of 6 months. Should the Language Center’s course portfolio be sufficiently large, the contract may be extended.

The Academic Services Division (AS) of University Services is a dedicated and committed team that provides support in the fields of education, research and knowledge transfer. These include the development of research and education policy, quality assurance, and administrative support for degree programs, graduate schools and research programs. AS also offers individual support to students, PhD students and academic staff. The division is headed by the AS Director and Deputy Directors of Teaching and Research.
